St Gregorios Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church Eastbourne was started as a congregation with the blessing and approval of H G Mor Gregorios Joseph and Fr Raju Cheruvillil was the first Vicar and conducted first Holy mass on 10.4.2004. It is worthwhile to remember the hard work of Mathew Mathen under the guidance of Fr Raju cheruvillil for the formation of this church. Members from different Christian denominations were attending the church regularly. It became as a church in 2010. Our Parish was blessed with the presence of H B Aboon Mor Baselios Thomas l, the catholicose of the East. During the last 17 years the Holy mass has also been celebrated by H. G Mor Aphrem Mathews Metropolitan and H G Gregorios Joseph. Our Patriarchal vicar H G Antheemos Mathews has celebrated church annual day in 2018& 2019. After Fr Raju cheruvillil served the church for 10 years late Rev Fr Dr Biji Chirathilattu has served for 2 years then Fr Geevarghese Thandayath for 4 years . Our current vicar is Fr Petar Kuriakose.
